Dave Levitt started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Metrolina Martial Arts in 2018 after enrolling his then 6 year old into the kids BJJ program. He started in his mid to late 30's and never looked back. Dave used BJJ as a way to bond with his son, get in shape (lost 40 lbs), and to learn a new skill while having fun. As a beginner, he competed regularly in multiple tournaments, scoring 11 wins (8 by submission), and brought home a total of 4 golds, 4 silvers, and 1 bronze. He quickly discovered how to fight off of his back and has tricky guard and leg lock game. His love has shifted from competition to Dojo life where he teaches our morning BJJ classes, manages our membership coordination, and trains regularly along with his wife and now 10 year old son.
