I would definitely recommend Metrolina Martial Arts! They offer a week free trial to let you try out all the classes. The instructors teach people of all experience levels from beginner to advanced. They are very knowledgeable about their disciplines that they teach. They make martial arts simple to understand and fun at the same time. The instructors also teach younger children which is really great! The children always have a great time while learning the martial arts. Metrolina is definitely family friendly, and they offer an inexpensive monthly rate that does not break the bank. I couldn’t ask for a better dojo to be a part of!

I couldn't love this place more. I've gotten healthy, learned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, lost 40 lbs, and made life long friends. Thank you Ed and staff for being who you are and turning me into a new person!

Let me start with some highlights about Metrolina Martial Arts:

1. The Instructors Ed and Tim are both certified and experienced. BJJ through Carlos Machado, Kali / Jeet Kune Do through Ron Balicki, and Combat Submission Wrestling through Erik Paulson. Muay Thai through Bill Graff.

2. Friendly Class and Instructors. A very tight knit group that are very open to help. If you are a new face you will get lots of one on one. You will also be encourage throughout your stay.

3. Free to try any class - Free week of training with no obligation. You can even change into a clean Gi for BJJ after Muay Thai/

4. Not SINK or SWIM. The Dojo is a learning environment. You will be encouraged to push yourself but at your comfort level.

5. A safe place to learn. Coaches monitor the intensity level to prevent injury. If you are doing something unsafe the Coaches will stop you and respectfully point it out.

6. CHECK the EGO at the door. This is not the Ultimate Fighter try outs. No one wants to be hurt and no one want to hurt you. There is no Shame in the tap. The one negative review this place has is probably from a person who came in for a free week and tried to sumo slam a white belt. They were probably also put into an arm bar and choked until they tapped.

7. You will see results if you stay committed.

8. Ed and Tim are passionate about teaching and want you to learn and have fun.

In closing, what are you waiting for??? Its a free week of training!! Go there and find out for yourself.

Started here two years ago as a timid Muay Thai student with zero experience in Martial Arts much less making a fist. I immediately felt welcomed and encouraged try other arts. Definitely recommend regardless of experience, everyone should come try a class.

First rate place to train martial arts. I came in literally knowing no-one, and I was welcomed as if I was training there for years. I have worked mainly with Sifu Ed doing JKD and Kali/Filipino Martial Arts, and having trained these same arts at other dojos in the area, I can say without a doubt that Metrolina Martial Arts offers the greatest knowledge/application in both of the respected arts. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
